Theon joined JM Dyer & Co as an Associate in September 2020 having successfully completed his pupillage with us. As a pupil, Theon assisted in numerous commercial and civil litigation matters before the Court of Appeal and High Court. Theon aims to develop a broad practice in line with our practice areas and he is committed to resolving the disputes of our clients effectively and efficiently.
In 2016 Theon obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree (with honours) from the University of Law (Birmingham) and was the recipient of the Provost Award of Excellence. He was subsequently called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2017. During his studies Theon developed a passion for advocacy and participated in numerous advocacy competitions. Most notably Theon was a finalist in both the WCA Mediation Competition and the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn Inter Provider Mooting Competition. Theon is committed to advocating zealously on behalf of our clients and to tailoring solutions to match their goals and objectives.
Prior to joining us, Theon worked as a Legal Assistant to the Legal Adviser of the Nevis Island Administration. During his tenure, Theon assisted the Legal Adviser and Senior Legal Counsel in various contentious and non-contentious matters and was also tasked with drafting amendments to various pieces of legislation.
Theon took a keen interest in the financial sector and was appointed as a member of the Financial Services Regulatory Commission Technical Team which was tasked with ensuring that Nevis was a compliant jurisdiction. Theon has a keen interest in youth development and has served as the President of the Nevis Youth Council where he created Youth Expression Through the Arts an avenue for youth who were artistically inclined to display their varying artforms.
